Cart Guard Used Vehicle Service Agreement (FTG-CGGC-VSC 03.2025)
Protect your used golf cart with comprehensive mechanical breakdown coverage backed by a nationally recognized administrator and insured protection. This service contract helps reduce out-of-pocket repair costs and provides additional benefits that keep you moving when unexpected failures occur. This is not insurance and not a manufacturer warranty—it is a paid service agreement that begins on the purchase date.
What This Agreement Covers
This Agreement provides Exclusionary Coverage for used golf carts. That means every part is covered unless it is specifically listed in the “What Is Not Covered” section. Covered component systems include:

Electric Golf Cart Battery Coverage
If equipped with an electric battery, you receive:

1 EV battery replacement, up to $500, if the battery’s storage capacity falls below 70% (or the manufacturer’s lower threshold).
Additional Benefits
Rental Cart Reimbursement
If your cart is kept overnight for a covered repair:

Up to $30/day,
-
For 5 days,
-
Maximum $150.
Service Call Reimbursement
If your cart breaks down and cannot be transported:

Up to $100 per Breakdown.
Pick-Up & Delivery Reimbursement
If your repair is covered:

Up to $100 for pickup and delivery of the vehicle.
Diagnostic Coverage
Diagnostic charges are covered when required to confirm a Breakdown.
What Is Not Covered
This Agreement excludes repairs related to:

Non-authorized repairs or any work without prior approval

Accidents, collisions, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper maintenance

Wear items such as filters, pads, belts, spark plugs, hoses, clamps
-
Batteries for gas carts
-
Tires, wheels, glass, body panels, trim, upholstery, paint
-
Modifications, oversized tires, non-OEM parts, suspension lifts
-
Rust/corrosion, overheating, contamination, improper fuel
-
Environmental damage (fire, flood, lightning, storms)
-
Commercial use (fleet, rental, golf course carts)
-
Pre-existing conditions
-
Minor seepage or gradual performance decline
-
Any part whose sole function is illumination
-
Any repair covered by manufacturer warranty, insurance, or another contract

How to File a Claim
-
Stop operating the vehicle to prevent further damage.
-
If unsafe to drive, tow the vehicle.
-
Return to the selling dealer or any licensed repair facility.
-
The repair facility must call (844) 737-1460 for pre-authorization.
-
Provide maintenance records if requested.
-
Submit receipts and documentation within 30 days of the completed repair.
No payment is made without a claim approval number.
Your Responsibilities
Required Maintenance
You must maintain the vehicle according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, including fluid levels and service intervals. Failure to maintain the vehicle may result in denied coverage.
Proof of Maintenance
You must keep:

Professional repair orders, or
-
A personal maintenance log with receipts for all materials.
Logs without receipts are not accepted.
Limits of Liability

Per-visit payout will not exceed the actual cash value of the vehicle.

Total payout during the Agreement term will not exceed the vehicle purchase price.
Transfer Policy
You may transfer the Agreement to a new owner (not to a dealer) by:

Requesting a transfer form within 15 days of sale,
-
Submitting maintenance records,
-
Paying a $50 transfer fee,
-
Completing all documents within 30 days of ownership change.
Cancellation Terms
You may cancel:
-
Within 30 days → Full refund, minus any paid claims
-
After 30 days → Pro-rata refund minus claims and a $50 fee
If the Agreement is financed, the lienholder may cancel under certain conditions.
The provider may also cancel for nonpayment, fraud, or significant change in vehicle condition.
Arbitration & Dispute Resolution
This Agreement includes a binding arbitration clause and class action waiver.
Opt-Out Option
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of purchase by sending written notice to Fortegra (mail or email). If you opt out, disputes proceed in court.
Insurance Backing
Your Agreement is insured so that if the Administrator becomes insolvent or fails to pay a claim within 60 days, you may file directly with the insurer listed in the contract.
Privacy Policy
